Donna Tartt was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and is a graduate of Bennington College. She is the author of the novels The Secret History and The Little Friend, which have been translated into thirty languages.
Truly deserving of the accolade Modern Classic, Donna Tartt's cult bestseller The Secret History is a remarkable achievement - both compelling and elegant, dramatic and playful. Under the influence of their charismatic classics professor, a group of clever, eccentric misfits at an elite New England college discover a way of thinking and living that is a world away from the humdrum existence of their contemporaries. But when they go beyond the boundaries of normal morality their lives are changed profoundly and for ever.

读后感:作者非常仇视古典学。完
评分It really gets one thinking... Through rationality we live, Too much of it, life turns joyless, even miserable; To little of it, life is happy yet meaningless.
评分Absolutely enchanting, a masterpiece I keep going back to.
评分Shame Donna Tartt has only written 3 books so far and this is the 2nd I read. Best of the best on the stony darkness of humanity, brushed over by a sense of 'sex drugs rock n roll', and condensed through a poetic heaviness.
