Excellent translation! I went to her talk at Yale. Such a sharp and attentive scholar. When she read out aloud her own translation--Penelope's dream and the massacre of the suitors, I was enamored by her words. She genuinely loves Homer and her passion for this literature just exuberated in the lecture hall. Energy overflows in her translation!

评分韻律感極好，畫麵感很強，有好幾幕非常喜歡，bloodshed 一章反復讀瞭好幾遍，太爽快。寫Penelope，”She offers hope to all, sends signs to each, but all the while her mind moves somewhere all” 她隱忍聰明堅定也神秘，然她最大的價值仍在她的sexual fidelity. 寫Odysseus，他勇敢聰慧強大，卻也說齣 “when the gods bring misery and pain, we have to bear our suffering with calm.” 故事奇妙壯麗，好看。
评分本是寫作課作業，但卻真正的吸引瞭我。書中有人們對美德的追求，有mortals和immortals的共處，有閃耀的古希臘文明。印象深刻。
