作为学术书籍是有点弱，但我觉得在豆瓣上有点被underrated吧。作者想象的受众在我看来是业内人士以及公共政策人士。但遗憾的是，本以为后半本书会是她的practice（如何给工科及信息科的学生普及社会知识，如果引导他们参与design as a praxis for social good; 或者她如何参加业内会议及政府政策会议，如何mobilize public policy changes that will lead to some concrete regulations and changes in search engine algorithms and information structures), 可惜并没有。有点失望。

一点点东西翻来覆去地讲，方法也没有做得太细，无论是historical analysis还是case都非常一般，理论的深度也极其欠缺，empirical evidence也和很多文化学者一样不够，一堆speculation。比较受启发的是lack of social setting while searching，但是可惜的是这一点没有太展开来讲……
