著者简介

He is the author of numerous works of fiction, as well as essays, criticism, and literary anthologies. Born in Cuba in 1923, Calvino was raised in Italy, where he lived most of his life. 對我來說這本書的重中之中並不是Calvino對他所選擇的那些經典的評論，因為它們中的一大部份我一無所知，最多知道個名字。但是本書的第一章卻是至關重要，乃至萬分後悔直到這個年齡才接觸到這本書。<Why Read the Classics?> 像是浩瀚書海中的燈塔，指明了一個方向。Classics在Calvino的定義下不僅僅限於大眾所知曉的經典，而是更加Personalise, 強調了個人對某本特定的書的感覺，或許有着強烈的共鳴，能夠多次地閱讀，每次閱讀都有不同的發現... 除了要閱讀那些眾所周知的Classic, 還需要列出自己的Classic List.
