目前看到的牛津通識裏比較好的一本，清晰，巧妙。解決瞭一些疑惑，比如文藝復興這個理想的、男性中心又（南）歐洲中心的概念構建於19世紀。其實人文主義、大航海、宗教改革都是復雜的大事，居然紮堆在這裏，生活在當時大概是快樂並焦慮著吧（和現在一樣）

努力讀瞭一本原版書

感覺就是高中的曆史教科書水平。我想這麼短篇的曆史的確不容易寫好，要麼顯得倉促，要麼就是非常沒品的以論帶史。曆史就應該是努力還原細節，以全知的視角審視；這樣八卦是最好的曆史瞭。

太過簡單瞭，不僅是內容，更重要的是論證邏輯

印象深刻的是看到文藝復興的dark side，一方麵銀行業興起、跨國貿易的繁榮、藝術大師輩齣，另一方麵對人力量的狂熱發展到頂端，帶來瞭嚮外殖民、黑奴交易和西方中心主義的泛濫。
