評分和Wittkower比起來，Rowe當然更為直接。但以黃金比取代傳統比例的句法分析、類型的比較、結構作為一種概念（Wittkower是Alberti的牆建築，Rowe是Chicago Frame）、視覺規則（Wittkower是透視，Rowe是立體主義）以及社會狀況對建築語言的影響（現代建築被判定為更接近Mannerism的理由）都如齣一轍。對Rowe而言，國際式是切實存在的，對他而言睏難在於去界定那一度被否定卻又堅信某種意義上必須的形式理論。
評分我覺得我之所以覺得英文版好讀隻是因為我很多詞不認識隻知道瞭一個大概就以為讀懂瞭。
評分此書與Wittkower的《原則》、Eisenman的《特拉尼》放到一起去讀，方顯“祖孫三代”的學術血脈——而骨子裏，又可以上溯到阿爾伯蒂的綫構之說。
