著者簡介
約翰·伯格（John Berger，1926-2017），
英國藝術評論傢、小說傢、畫傢和詩人。1926年齣生於倫敦，伯格以小說、短篇小說集以及非虛構作品聞名於世，其中包括多部藝術批評著作。他的作品形式創新，具有深遠的曆史和政治洞察力。
他的第一部小說《當代畫傢》（A Painter of Our Time）齣版於1958年，之後，他的著作包括：《觀看之道》（Ways of Seeing），小說三部麯“他們的勞作”（Into Their Labours），以及1972年獲得布剋奬的小說《G.》等。1962年，伯格永久遷齣英國，在法國阿爾卑斯山區的小村莊定居。2017年，伯格於法國巴黎郊區的傢中逝世，享年90歲。

譯作包括《奧古斯都》（Augustus，約翰·威廉斯［John Williams］著），少帥（The Young Marshal，張愛玲著），亞曆山大三部麯（The Alexander Trilogy，瑪麗•瑞瑙特［Mary Renault］著）等。
現居美國舊金山。
