Gerard Hendrik Hofstede (born 3 October 1928, Haarlem) is an influential Dutch writer on the interactions between national cultures and organizational cultures, and is an author of several books including Culture's Consequences and Cultures and Organizations, Software of the Mind, co-authored by his son Gert Jan Hofstede.Hofstede's study demonstrated that there are national and regional cultural groupings that affect the behaviour of societies and organizations, and that are very persistent across time.

We should be more open-minded. We need to try our best to walk out of our comfort-zone and embrace other cultures. The more we know about other deep cultures, the better we can integrate into other groups and understand the reasons behind their behavior and thought, the less we judge. In this way, we become culture sensitive person.
