第一次完整地读马尔克斯的作品，老人家话有点啰嗦之外还是不错的。人性的泯灭在于对生命的漠视和对“封建”思想的过度重视。

Marquez is one of the best story-tellers. He is cynical, funny, sentimental, and heavy alternatively. Reading his story is like travelling in a mysterious Latin American forest with dazzling living species and splendid streams in it. The narrative is mysterious but succinct, ironic and romantic at the same time.

真好看一个小镇短短几个小时平凡不起眼的角色简单明了的冲突这小格局的故事却硬生生被juxtaposed with冷漠而不容抗拒的命运好似杀鸡用牛刀这种不协调的juxtaposition就是马尔克斯的精髓把不协调写出了绝妙的荒谬的意味对两者之间平衡的操控力真令人叹服

Not possible to say who is to blame. The Vicario brothers claim their intentions whereas few people attempt to stop them; impersonal coincidences; underlying social factors: the honour code not only initiates the murder but also justifies it, sexism pervades and male dominance weakens Clotilde Armenta's efforts to prevent the crime. Tragic indeed.
