著者簡介

Allen Downey is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Olin College of Engineering. He has taught computer science at Wellesley College, Colby College and U.C. Berkeley. He has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley and Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees from MIT.

介绍了足够用的Python知识，而没有讲复杂的、高级的特性；涵盖了编程的所有主要方面。例子设计很恰当；练习题具有足够的挑战性。以wikipedia 链接的方式给出相关背景知识。作为一本编程入门（Introduction to Programming）书，非常合适。
