Art historical theory is a forum of intense, often passionate debate. This book provides a starting point for the art history student to the range of theoretical perspectives used in looking at and analysing art. 中期考核必读书目之一。其实这类的工具指南书很多，和大多数同类书一样，这本的预期读者也是undergraduate students。这本最出彩的地方在于教你怎样用理论对艺术现象提问，怎样将这些方法运用到分析作品当中，以及对论文写作的一些建议，真是好导师啊。最后一章提到了HB，算是彩蛋。目录太长没补完弃~

大二买的书吧，现在想来挺无聊的其实，无非是各种理论拿点来，美式的那一套。我现在觉得真正的方法论一定是从这个学科研究的特殊材料本身得出的，而不是把那种什么都可以分析的话语拿来混淆视听
