"Maybe that's what writing is all about, Sid. Not recording events from the past, but making things happen in the future". Auster has a weird sense of intuition and sharpness. I wonder what the world is like for him, and what it is like to be him. I can sense his abysmal hopelessness. I think he still hasn't come to terms with himself yet.
