Big History的典範之作，方法論問題Christian寫瞭五六篇論文，總體來說尚受承認：逆用White的「無人不生活於故事中」，把宇宙和人類都扔在故事裏。史詩性的體裁選擇、未來主義指嚮、道德倫理維度的介入，都挑戰著二十世紀末史學理論和實踐中間嚴重的脫節。前前後後的作者都有不少評價和補正。人類中心觀（anthropocentrrism）和某種隱含的進化論是避不開的爭議點【畢竟不是在寫宇宙史，否則六百頁的書人類史能有一行就不錯瞭】，過度理論化也常常為人詬病，但是不得不說仍是一種非常有趣的實踐挑戰，如作者所言，他希望自己的子子孫孫通過瞭解大曆史的故事，「瞭解我們所麵對的挑戰與機遇。」這種明確的未來指嚮近年越來越受關注瞭。

评分真的沒有仔細的去看這麼一部大作品，由於是英文版的不能很好的理解，有時候僅僅是齣於完成作業的需求而已。不過它有一個如此宏大的題目，有一個頗具野心的觀點，應該是本好書
