Eugene Rogan is author of the bestselling The Fall of the Ottomans: The Great War in the Middle East, 1914-1920. He is professor of modern Middle Eastern history at the University of Oxford and Director of the Middle East Centre, St Antony's College, Oxford.

评分comprehensive! recommend reading chapters 10 & 11, "the Rise/Decline of Arab Nationalism"
评分非常好讀的通史，寫的簡單易懂，非常適閤閑暇閱讀，文筆上比Albert Hourani的阿拉伯曆史要簡單很多，隨便翻翻就讀完瞭，Hourani大師的書要一邊撞牆纔能讀的下去。因為是通史肯定有所省略，但整體邏輯的嚴謹性和貫通感保持的很好。
评分這書寫的其實挺好的，但是assigned reading實在太多瞭，skip太多最後都懶得補瞭T.T
