精讀部分大開眼界惹。

最喜歡Joan Didion's On the Morning after the Sixties。Thinking as Hobby也很有趣。不喜歡斯蒂芬金的腔調，勞倫斯和福斯特倒頗對胃口。對Bill Bryson的評點時說到American humor unlike cerebral British humor,is oftentimes associated with bodily functions and even scatological descriptions——這裏的scatology is also known as coprology：糞便化石學！有幾篇沒讀。

國內少見的英文評注版的散文集，有經典文章，也有較新的篇目，重要的文段也有編者的指引，另外每篇文章後附有參考書目，少而精，實用性強；不足之處在於泛讀材料的參考信息較少，課程實錄視頻不全，其他幾位編者如能實錄其他篇章的課程上傳至網絡供學習者參考，那真是功德無量瞭。

花瞭一個晚上看的閑書，好看，如果我開這門課我就用這本教材瞭，我絕對不會讓那個老外上這門課。。

風格獨特，學問紮實。 其實那年一齣版就買來看瞭…… 又看瞭一部分之前陸老散文課用的無注早期版本，選篇有不少差彆。
