作者是33岁时从叙利亚移民美国的医生。英文不好，大多数地方写得支离破碎，但是，如果透过文字看背后的意思，还是能够理解作者试图表达的意思。书中有价值的地方是对一些伊斯兰历史上经典文献的引用，因为作者的母语是阿拉伯语；以及对伊斯兰一些重要概念的介绍，比如Taqia，al-Fatiha等等。我个人读后，感觉一定程度理解了巴以冲突，作者的介绍多来自亲身经历，故还是可靠的。对muslim anti-semitism，该书与Ayaan Hirsi Ali的议论多有相同之处，可资注意。

相当应景的读了这书。这位女作者着实令人钦佩，敢想敢说、够自省、爱反思，——受害者心态、充满挫折感的文明、经义的解说等等。部分章节有点儿过，现今这个世界是多元的，不太能苟同”西方的就是好的“。
