"Merleau-Ponty: Key Concepts" presents an accessible guide to the core ideas which structure Merleau-Ponty's thinking as well as to his influences and the value of his ideas to a wide range of disciplines. The first section of the book presents the context of Merleau-Ponty's thinking, the major debates of his time, particularly existentialism, phenomenology, the history of philosophy and the philosophy of history and society. The second section outlines his major contributions and conceptual innovations. The final section focuses upon how his work has been taken up in other fields besides philosophy, notably in sociology, cognitive science, health studies, feminism and race theory.

PHIL043 further 讀瞭Cognitive Science篇 Gallagher很大佬全文最關鍵點論點還是Merleau-Ponty的intercorporeity下發展齣的simulation theory對mirror neurons的指導作用梅洛還有很多可以挖掘的地方自然化現象學的路子有兩種一種是mathematical formulation 另一種less formalisitc 是neurophenomenology (Varela 1996) and front- loaded phenomenology用現象學的insights去啓發neuroscience We shall see how it eventually goes
