字很小，看得辛苦。戰爭不僅是中國“中世”（約隋唐到宋末）最重要的社會和人口地理變遷動力之一，又迫使中央政權（主要是宋朝）在文武關係和中央—地方關係上適時調整而造成統治集團內部精英的分裂，而且在戰爭中邊境/邊疆地區界綫反復變動既衝擊傳統天下觀和天命閤法性，亦逐漸形成新的我—他認同，更將以往相對遠離“中原/中心”地帶的少數族群拉入到中華帝國的政治漩渦中。
