BRYAN LAWSON is both an architect and a psychologist who has written widely on the nature of design processes. His previous books in this field include 'How Designers Think', 'What Designers Know' and 'Design in Mind'. He has been Head of School and Dean of Architecture at Sheffield University and held visiting posts in Australia, Hong Kong, Netherlands, Malaysia, and Singapore.
KEES DORST has a background in industrial design and philosophy. After a career in design practice, he has moved to academia where he studies the way designers think and work. He is now Professor of Design at the University of Technology, Sydney. He has published numerous articles and four books-most recently the book 'Understanding Design-175 reflections on being a designer'.

About the Author
Bryan Lawson is a Professor of Architecture at the University of Sheffield. He is however both an architect and a psychologist, which has enabled him to study the nature of the design process
