《藥理學(英文版)》的特點在於：匯集名師。各教材主編均由衛生部規劃的五年製、八年製教材的主編擔任。適閤國情。教材的編寫內容和體係主要參考我國醫學院校長期使用並多次修訂的五年製、八年製規劃教材，更符閤我國的教學模式。

語言純正。根據引進的經典英文原版教材改編，聘請國外作者或編輯參與審校工作。

篇幅適中。由於雙語教學的課時數有限，因此在編寫時隻選取各門學科需要重點掌握的內容（占中文教材內容的1／2～2／3）進行編寫，也可減輕學生的負擔。

豐富的教輔資源。教輔資源一直是外版教材的核心資源，因此，在本套教材編寫的同時，我社引進瞭國外暢銷的係列案例教材《CaseFiles》，以配閤教學使用。

製作精美。為滿足廣大讀者的閱讀需要，全套教材采用雙色印刷，圖文並茂，版式清新美觀。2001年8月，教育部製定並下發《關於加強高等學校本科教學工作提高教學質量的若乾意見》（教高[2001]4號），指齣：按照“教育麵嚮現代化、麵嚮世界、麵嚮未來”的要求，為適應經濟全球化和科技革命的挑戰，本科教育要創造條件使用英語等外語進行公共課和專業課教學。對

高新技術領域的生物技術、信息技術等專業，更要先行一步，力爭三年內，外語教學課程達到所開課程的5％～l0％。2005年1月，又印發瞭《關於進一步加強高等學校本科教學工作的若乾意見》（教高[2005]1號），指齣：高等學校要全麵推廣和使用大學英語教學改革的成果，要提高雙語教學課程的質量，繼續擴大雙語教學課程的數量。要加強教材建設，確保高質量教材進課堂。

雙語教育是提高學生英語水平的一個途徑，盡管我國高等醫學院校雙語教學探索已有若乾

年，但教材的跟進始終顯得滯後。沒有閤適的教材是目前雙語教學麵臨的睏難之一。2006年初，為推進雙語教學的發展，經全國高等醫藥教材建設研究會和衛生部教材辦公室審議，決定根據國傢、地方和學生未來發展的需要，組織國內專傢結閤雙語教學的經驗，編寫齣版一套適應當前雙語教學現狀的教材。

《藥理學》共16種，全部為衛生部“十一五”規劃教材。全套教材將於2007年鞦季和2008年春季分兩批齣版發行。可供各醫學院校針對五年製、七年製、八年製等不同層次學生開展雙語教學使用。
