提到MIT的凱皮斯，學建築的人可能知道的不多；可是提到林奇，建築係的人都知道。然後，林奇當年研究城市意象時，閤作者就是凱皮斯。這本關於視覺語言的書，是現代視覺語言的一本經典。很包豪斯。

Colin Rowe從中“攫取”瞭“Transparency”加以利用，但吸引我的一段摘抄如下：“A memory constancy...is attached to familiar things of our surroundings. We keep a constant size and shape in our perception however the size and shape of the retinal projection may vary with changes in our angle of vision” （p87）
