集漫画、回忆录、创意写作指导于一体，形式新颖。不过就写作建议而言，类似要点和训练方法其他地方也有介绍（甚至更清晰系统），作者只是结合自身经历用漫画加以呈现。

我终于读进Lynda barry了orzzz她的图很没系统，但是写作把想法系统化，支配图像。一开始是比较规整的写作吸引我，之后图像和碎片的句子开始有意义。读起来很meditative的书，写作平易近人又不冗长。对我有用的是开头的essay questions，很多问题也是我在想的。她基于语言的提问方式很好（但是这些问题在全书重复很多orzzz）之前构建的她自己的语言在之后的写作中串联用上，写作是时间顺序，这些语言的释义像是倒叙。
