Fish paleontologist Shubin illuminates the subject of evolution with humor and clarity in this compelling look at how the human body evolved into its present state. 如果让我对自己今年读的书做个十佳总结这本肯定能进前三，但是我懒哈哈哈。纪录片只是挑选了鱼到爬行动物、爬行动物到哺乳动物、哺乳动物到人这三个标志性转变的中间型，书不仅仅讲了动物的进化和更多的中间型，也讲了古生物学的发展，摆出了一系列非常牛逼的科学家们做的究极牛逼（有些很恶熏）的实验，讲了从感觉器官到脑袋到整个身体的历史。最后一章还科普了为什么会同时聋哑，为什么会打嗝，为什么会疝气，为什么会呼吸暂停等，答案可以在人类远亲蠕虫啊两栖动物啊爬行动物啊鱼啊的身上找到。

废话太多，讲自己去哪里哪里挖什么什么化石，结果挖不到啊什么什么的，谁感兴趣啊。

本书的中心思想就是"we were not designed rationally, but are products of convoluted history"，读完有种把基础生物课用大白话都复习了一遍的感觉，顺便了解了一些关于paleontology的内容，还蛮有意思的。书后列举了书内引用过的原始资料和文章，特别实用。
