Fish paleontologist Shubin illuminates the subject of evolution with humor and clarity in this compelling look at how the human body evolved into its present state. Parsing the millennia-old genetic history of the human form is a natural project for Shubin, who chairs the department of organismal biology and anatomy at the University of Chicago and was co-discoverer of Tiktaalik, a 375-million-year-old fossil fish whose flat skull and limbs, and finger, toe, ankle and wrist bones, provide a link between fish and the earliest land-dwelling creatures. 先表扬一下封面设计，个人感觉比原版好看，更非学术化，适应中国国情。接着就是批评了。翻译太差。译者很很可能不是生物学背景的。也许是因为太忠于原文，他/她的语言对于一本科普畅销书来说也太生硬拗口无趣。插图的注释与原文似乎并不是出自一人之手，一些专业名词并不相...

作为一本科普书，内容由浅入深，让你一边看书一边不自觉的看看手，摸摸耳朵，转转眼珠。看完以后有一种恍然大悟的感觉，同时又把已经还给生物老师的知识拿回来了一点儿。全书无论是结构、内容和写作风格都很合我的胃口，唯独翻译，太可惜了。科普类的内容翻译确实很麻烦，既...

这是一本很有趣的书。土摩托推荐的时候已经说过翻译上有点缺憾，确实有些地方读得很费力还没搞明白意思，当然另一个可能是我的IQ还不够。我读的上一本科普书《为什么要相信达尔文》里提到从水中登陆的关键过渡物种提塔利克鱼，其化石的发现者就是本书的作者。作者在第一章中...

书是好的。国内买不到原版，翻译的也就将就，忍了。插图太差劲了。想想出版社为了薄利多销，肯翻译，能出来，就不错了，再次忍了。天朝的人们都不热爱科学，习惯了。

本书的中心思想就是"we were not designed rationally, but are products of convoluted history"，读完有种把基础生物课用大白话都复习了一遍的感觉，顺便了解了一些关于paleontology的内容，还蛮有意思的。书后列举了书内引用过的原始资料和文章，特别实用。
