George killed Lennie all by himself out of mercy not cruelty,Just like Crandy said he should killed his dog by himself.Sometimes people must do bad things for good reasons,somgtimes people do bad things for no reason at all .Dreams destoryed,innnocent life killed, it's not even anyone's fault,it's fate slap you in the face.

5星，就算這個版本紙質和剪裁很bother我這個強迫癥，還是高分。真是看完瞭讓人很久都迴不過勁來的小說。不算長，但是印象很深刻。

這應該就是黑格爾所說的最高的悲劇吧，沒有人有錯，可是由於每個人的性格經曆和社會局限性造成瞭悲劇。篇幅這麼小，可是每個人物都塑造得有血有肉，而且是時代大環境的生動縮寫，不隻刻畫瞭下層勞動者，更是錶現瞭有色人種和女性受到的歧視和局限。大師手筆。
