讀瞭一半不到實在讀不下去，太難看瞭。這麼多短篇寫的都是同一個女人；爸酗酒，媽跑瞭，丈夫打人，孩子死瞭。有一點點點像卡佛；人物的痛苦和絕望很膚淺，最要命的是自己還沉溺於享受這種膚淺的痛苦。

评分生活無法永遠都是蜜糖。很多人不喜歡這本書因為所有的故事都讓人感到壓抑、痛苦、以及絕望。故事中的女人們並不是人們所預期的那樣的strong women，她們都是damaged、broken、以及hopeless。不同於成功勵誌學，這本書讓我們清醒。
