卡森•麦卡勒斯，20世纪美国最重要的作家之一。1917年2月19日生于美国佐治亚州，29岁后瘫痪。著有《心是孤独的猎手》《伤心咖啡馆之歌》《金色眼睛的映像》《没有指针的钟》等小说作品。1967年9月29日麦卡勒斯在纽约州去世，时年50岁。

Carson's words have become more and more precious to me as fewer and fewer are left for me to read. I still remember how badly I had wanted to find this book and own it and read it, because when you love a writer that much, you simply don't want to miss a single word he/she has ever put down, if that's possible.
