评分考慮到作者本人多語言的文化背景和研究中世紀詩歌的履曆，本書行文不夠乾淨利落的情況還是比較讓人吃驚的：一是不少長句拖遝導緻論說重點不明確，二是有些關鍵詞用的頻率次數實在太多瞭。精彩之處在有兩個章節：1、從阿維森納穿梭到阿韋羅伊、邁濛尼德的個人曆史遭遇最後落腳阿奎納；2、對塞萬提斯的解讀非常有博爾赫斯短篇的韻味。
