杜魯門•卡波特(Truman Capote)，1924年生於新奧爾良，美國文學史上著名的南方文學作傢，曾兩次獲得歐•亨利小說奬。他自幼父母離異，高中便輟學，受雇於《紐約客》開始寫作生涯。代錶作品有：長篇小說《彆的聲音，彆的房間》；中篇小說《草竪琴》、《蒂凡尼的早餐》、《夏日十字街頭》等；齣版於1966年的《冷血》以“非虛構小說”的文體形式開創瞭美國紀實小說的先河，進一步奠定瞭其文壇地位；另有《聖誕憶舊集》、《犬吠》、《變色龍的音樂》等作品集。
