若想对任何一个阶段的语言学进行了解，了解整个语言学的历史都是必不可少的入门。讲语言学史的书有不少，套路也大体相当，从古希腊、罗马到中世纪，再到文艺复兴以至近代，但这本书是这类书中的典范。只有用历史的眼光才能看清自己所在今天，才知道自己做的，想做的东西...
