评分對比11世紀的書能看齣來人們思想的變化，書裏有令人意外的女權觀念（盡管是舊式）。對比幾十年前的騎士小說，似乎更要求一個完美的角色在各方麵都有造詣，盡管中庸，卻毫無趣味。且不說和馬基雅維利比是多麼冗長，單就其欠缺邏輯（倒是足夠謙卑地先說明自己也不懂）的論述已經讓人難以看完。
