其實一開始看就被這種敘事風格語言特色所吸引了，當然這也可能是個人偏好，但實際上在世界文學地圖上巡遊一圈之後，再次拾起這本書，看到古怪的老太婆，瘋瘋顛顛的老頭子（早晨的奇遇），以及維多利亞式的建築設置，迷霧籠罩的倫敦，會有特殊的親切感。 看卡夫卡...

主万这个译者的特点是啰嗦。正因如此，《洛丽塔》里敏锐又幽默，贵族气息浓厚的纳博科夫，也就被他翻成了啰啰嗦嗦的老年学究。不过，放到《荒凉山庄》里，这样啰嗦的行文风格反而和作者对上了号——应该说是一部分——狄更斯就爱使用长句，译者主万的弱点也就不太突出了。但是...

这书能够再版，读者有福了。狄更斯如果选一部代表作，其他好多部在今天都有所褪色，唯独这部至今仍然光芒万丈，这部才担当得起代表作。 以下是多年前写的： 这等巅峰之作，何以无人问津？正如《卡拉马佐夫兄弟》是陀思妥耶夫斯基的巅峰之作，《荒凉山庄》是狄更斯的巅峰之作。...
