This volume contains two unusual and appealing satirical works by the well-known European philosopher Kolakowski. The first, Tales from the Kingdom of Lailonia, is set in a fictional land. Each story illustrates some aspect of human inability to come to terms with imperfection, infinitude, history, and nature. The second, The Key to Heaven, is a collection of seventeen biblical tales from the Old Testament told in such a way that the story and the moral play off each other to illustrate political, moral, or existential foibles and follies.

著者簡介

Leszek Kolakowski (1927-2009) was professor of philosophy at the University of Warsaw until the Polish political crisis of March 1968 when he was formally expelled. Hethen moved to universities inNorth America and the United Kingdom.From 1981 to 1994 he was a professor in the Committee on Social Thought andthe department of philosophy at the University of Chicago. He is best known for his critical analyses of Marxist thought, especially his three-volume history, "Main Currents of Marxism" (1976). In his later work, he increasingly focused on philosophical and religious questions. He was the author of numerous books.

前十三个童话看不出什么出彩的地方。 倒是《天堂的钥匙》十分有趣。当然，前提是你熟悉圣经故事。看完，你就会同意作者是个相当有趣的老头这一说法。

相对而言，我更喜欢《十三个童话故事》。其中印象最深的是《罗锅儿》、《名人》。至于《天堂的钥匙》，无法与某些思想接轨。不过还是有印象深刻的一篇，那便是《以扫，或曰哲学与交易的关系》

前两天，室友讲到她作的一个梦：梦到被人追，她很怕被抓到。逃得时候前面出现一个绞肉机。她就躲到绞肉机里面去被叫成肉碎（觉得这样就不会被抓住了）。从绞肉机里出来她就恢复了人形。不过还是马上被人抓住了。于是她将梦倒回到被追的时候，再进绞肉机，再被抓。 其实，我也...

《关于来洛尼亚王国的十三个童话故事》收录了两本短篇故事集：《关于来洛尼亚王国的十三个童话故事》和《天堂的钥匙》。前者多是讽喻之作，但行文拖沓，想象力一般，可读性不强。后者则选取圣经中的一些典故，加以戏谑式的发挥，着实展现了作者柯拉柯夫斯基的哲学、宗教学功底...
