著者簡介

Homer was probably born around 725BC on the Coast of Asia Minor, now the coast of Turkey, but then really a part of Greece. Homer was the first Greek writer whose work survives.

He was one of a long line of bards, or poets, who worked in the oral tradition. Homer and other bards of the time could recite, or chant, long epic poems.

"The Illiad is all about glory, about dying well, whereas the Odyssey is a book of home coming." 壯烈犧牲的Archilles在地府過得並不光芒萬丈，最大的人生贏傢依然是迴到傢的Odysseus。是不是再戰功顯赫的英雄，也比不上一個迴到傢的人完滿呢。

Reading The Odyssey is an odyssey in and of itself. 喜歡第十七章 Father and Son 那種闊彆多年不能相認的微妙情緒傳達得真到位。
