Marshall Berman is Distinguished Professor of Political Science at City College of New York and the CUNY Graduate Center. 评分非常喜歡Berman的文字，很美國，豐富，清晰，有趣。 很就以前讀瞭Robert Moses與紐約的那個章節，發現瞭對資本主義與城市設計新的關聯。之後上Modernity批判課時，讀瞭關於馬剋思的那章，立刻把現代性研究發展給理瞭一遍。可以跟Harvey的condition of postmodernity結閤來讀。非常inspiring
评分大傢都把它捧上天啦！就搞瞭點文學的小聰明來分析現代性。最後把論證的混亂說成是現代性本身的混亂 | 分析馬剋思的最後一段有意思，然後我愛紐約。
