我猜这个姓谭的应该曾因自己的华裔身份而极度自卑过，碰巧又有个比较传统强势的妈，长大以后就把一腔愤懑全撒到中国文化上了。可惜啊，最后偏偏还是得仰仗自己的种族身份才能出名。豆瓣居然打分这么高，简直了。

评分跨文化学习的经典之作，虽然仍然有一些stereotype，但是故事曲折动人。喜欢Amy Tan。
评分奥赛德阅读一天一章，82天读完。如果不是看过电影，情节真得把自己混乱了。没有电影体验好。感觉有些中国情节为体现差异而写，没深入。每个人物形象都留于表面，对于迷茫都没解释。人物心理描写弱，表达不够立体。The past is a foreign country.they do things differently there.Society changes as time passes.so when we look to the past. It's like looking at a foreign culture.a foreign conutry.
