sorta half-baked, unsatisfactory ending for a novel with such emphasis on pushing the plot forward

很難想象這麼拖遝，這麼不可怕不可信的毫無想象力的小說的作者是諾貝爾文學奬獲得者。或者諾貝爾文學奬其實不過也隻是《楚天都市報》編輯的水平。

Tremendously disturbed but I think deep down we're all at some level fascinated by a darker Quasimodo. As if compelled to see he finally bring about annihilation of everything we ever believed to be undestructable — the only right thing to be done. Totally understand Harriet, maternal, Catholic and fatalistic, but hell, I would go nowhere near her.
