A basic problem in computer vision is to understand the structure of a real world scene given several images of it. Techniques for solving this problem are taken from projective geometry and photogrammetry. Here, the authors cover the geometric principles and their algebraic representation in terms of camera projection matrices, the fundamental matrix and the trifocal tensor. The theory and methods of computation of these entities are discussed with real examples, as is their use in the reconstruction of scenes from multiple images. The new edition features an extended introduction covering the key ideas in the book (which itself has been updated with additional examples and appendices) and significant new results which have appeared since the first edition. Comprehensive background material is provided, so readers familiar with linear algebra and basic numerical methods can understand the projective geometry and estimation algorithms presented, and implement the algorithms directly from the book.

評分超级棒的一本书，尤其是偏几何方向的CVer，必读书目。 本人最近在读中，并且每周在组会上做一章的presentation ，收获颇丰~~ 通读全书，基本需要2-3个月的时间。读后，会对基本的视觉几何有一个理论上的基础认识。同时结合一些最新的CVPR，ICCV，ECCV的文章，会有比较大的收获...
評分其实一直很想读一读Hartley的这个书，可惜国内没有。 申请ANU的CV组失败了，很沮丧，网站上看Hartley还是蛮和善的一个老头（不好意思，这么说他）。有没有能力不是问题，能不能做到才是关键。教授的个人网址：http://users.rsise.anu.edu.au/~hartley/

評分非常好的一本书。四个对应点的算法影响实在是太大了。有兴趣的话还可以看看“In Defense of the Eight-Point Algorithm”，1997年发表。非常的严谨。其实，书里面的算法并不难理解，但是最棒的是书中提供了用伪代码写成的算法。这对实现算法以及理解非常非常有帮助！。
