阿瑟·高頓（Arthur Golden），生於美國田納西州查塔努加（Chattanooga），本科畢業於哈佛大學藝術史係，專攻日本藝術。1980年，獲哥倫比亞大學日本史碩士學位，兼修中文。在北京大學進修一個夏季之後，他到東京工作。迴到美國後他在波士頓大學獲英文碩士學位。目前他與妻子和兩個孩子定居馬薩諸塞州布魯剋林。《藝伎迴憶錄》是其發錶的第一部長篇小說。

评分My previous prejudice was discarded. A geisha's life was far beyond the struggles and truimphs. They at last made peace with strong emotions. Immersed in an enthralling world, I was impressed by the depiction of elegantly designed kimonos and taken back by the bid for virginity.

评分老外寫日本的故事也不容易. 改變的電影章子怡心和鞏利的藝妓形象是給老美看的. 和日本藝妓形象還是有氣質的不同.
评分電影剛齣來的時候看的電影。前兩天偶爾淘到瞭書，抽著擠著時間讀完瞭。描述手法不錯，不過一到細節描寫，英文就沒有中文豐富。硬傷。
