作為90年代初最早一批來中國投資的歪果仁，一邊是美國成熟商業體係下大型投行的職業經理人，一邊是中國內陸鳥不拉屎的山溝裏計劃經濟體製下工廠的負責人，作者在兩路人馬迥異的經營與處世風格夾縫中之艱難求生曆程，我看著都替他腦殼痛。最精彩的部分當屬同時和好幾個投資工廠中的牛鬼蛇神鬥智鬥勇的故事，讓人看到剛改革開放時，麵臨經濟巨大轉型時社會其他方麵滯後導緻的各種問題，其實很多現在依然存在。

確實揭露瞭我國短視不講信用一麵的不堪，但是作者雖然來中國學習中國文化找機遇卻不能放下身段，那有所吃虧和氣氛就在所難免，書中大部分都在寫中國的短處，但是作者之所以堅持這麼多年還不斷的擴大投資說明他還是嘗到甜頭的，但文中卻隻字未提，難免偏頗

寫得很真切，很值得讀，作者在中國吃瞭那麼多苦依然能客觀的看中國，看普通的中國人，點贊。

A stunning book！！！How brave the author is and how wonderful the sense of humour he holds! I really wish I could be a player dating back to that promising good old days. I wonder if there is a book from a Chinese partner perspective towards those foreigners involving Chinese economy?
