想到自己读到人类学的研究生才第一次读这本书，不免有一种又惭愧又庆幸的感觉。惭愧的是自己的拖延症，庆幸的是现在至少可以从各种不同的视角来读了（i.e., situated knowledge/semiotics/poststructuralist...etc.）
评分从写作背景和预期的效用来讲 不清楚是否能冠以伟大之名 但必然是一部经典 在战后七十多年才阅读 自然需要带着历史局限性的鉴别意识 然而作为西方人能对日本做出如此细致到巅毫的解读 着实堪比愚公移山之功 即便在邻国中国 也鲜有见到类似相近的作品 // 必须提一下 这位十九世纪出生的作者 语言功力尤其是摆弄超长句的功力十分了得 小生大把时间在思考如何断句 主语是啥 这句到底是肯定还是否定 单词相比倒是小问题了

评分Japanese culture is paradoxical, and probably self-contradictary to westerners. Yet Benedict has done a great job in explaining it in a lucid style. Perceptive and prophetic.
