故事讲完了结尾就一般了，讲述爱的伟大，那怪最后Wilder会被评论家打入middlebrow。

我认为怀尔德的《圣路易雷桥》是一本探讨“爱”的小说，由这个“爱”的主题通向对“生”的意义的诘问。小说涉及到母女之爱，兄弟之爱，老师和学生之爱，而恰恰没有讨论我们现在广而言之的“爱情”。怀尔德对这些”爱“的刻画具有一种让人痛彻心肺的力量，绝不亚于一次“失恋”...
