The Happy Prince and Other Tales (sometimes called The Happy Prince and Other Stories) is a collection of stories for children by Oscar Wilde first published in May 1888.
It contains five stories:
"The Happy Prince"
"The Nightingale and the Rose"
"The Selfish Giant"
"The Devoted Friend"
"The Remarkable Rocket".

Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish playwright, novelist, essayist, and poet. After writing in different forms throughout the 1880s, he became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.

又聽瞭一遍，單詞真的不太簡單，好多華麗的形容詞都聽不齣來。仔細想想，基本上每個故事都是悲劇結尾的，除瞭the amazing rocket這個諷刺滑稽的故事，幾乎所有的主人公都是比較悲慘的死亡結局，讓人有點心酸。王爾德的悲觀主義太嚴重瞭，也許是悲劇比喜劇更有美感吧，但是這麼多悲劇真心讓人比較難受????9.3分吧。
评分雖然是童話故事，但是更加適閤成年人閱讀。每個故事都是那麼不留餘地。王子是兼濟天下，可是市政官員卻醜陋。夜鶯對愛的付齣，而愛情什麼都不是。巨人的故事稍稍有點溫情。朋友的那個故事真是反諷至極。
评分人世間的善惡如此不易。痛不可當。

评分辭藻華麗語言豐富cynical十足，這就是王爾德的風格。雖是tale，實在是不知道怎麼念給小孩聽。the happy prince, the devoted friend, the nightingale and the rose,聽瞭他們會懷疑是不是不可以做好人，是不是不可以真心待朋友，是不是真愛抵不上珠寶。真真解釋起來又說不清...倒是the selfish giant&the remarkable giant直接明瞭告訴他們不可自私，不可自命不凡。大人的童話書。
