书读到一半，非常有欲望往下读，不停。书院图书馆里这批藏书一直高搁，直到这个暑假从严复开始，一本接一本地读。前几本的书评我就不在此写了，而这本“现代的诱惑”，是读着最不累，又可以思想最多的一本，而且最关键的是自己从中认真体验了做“学问”需要的真知和深究。书主...  

慚愧，讀得不細

好大一個topic。抓住瞭半殖民語境下的bifurcation 以及現代／現代性之間的tension展開論述。大邏輯是清晰的，具體文本（鬱達夫的decadence，淩叔華的feminism/orientalist ）有點過於簡單化瞭。

史書美週四週五在我們學校講座，Lure of the Modern在一年前寫淩叔華時讀過。對史的overreading頗不以為然，Virginia Woolf對淩叔華，不可以純粹地以first world feminist assuming the role of instructor去解讀，淩叔華在W鼓勵下以英文寫作Ancient Melodies也不是Euro-centric language hegemony.淩和V.W的交情別有一段浪漫故事。這次見到本尊並沒有提。新近讀瞭她的relational comparison, sinophone study,transnational encounter還是大開眼界。特別是她參與週四我們比較文學課的課堂討論，提到譯介學者該如何自處，深受啓發

提齣瞭在殖民現代性的語境中看魯迅。但這個書涉及內容很廣泛，確定就是研究不具體，對魯迅那部分也顯得草率。把魯迅和嚴復對等起來的認識很成問題。
