Reading this book is an amazing trip，as if you live in Fuling with the author . Ho Wei says he describes a remote rive town，which is just a small part of China. However I think the humanity and personality of Chinese represented in the book are common. Anyway，this is a masterpiece and the touching text is beyond my poor English description.

评分Hessler 说，we are exchanging cliche without knowing it, 因此都获得了感动。作为一个作者，他虽然无法摆脱至上而下的优越视角，但因了他一些不动声色的偏爱和辩解，整本书也显得柔软起来。
评分这部书里有太多我可以identify的东西，美国外教，四川，peace corps，英语专业，英美文学……让我想起Tony, Cyndi and Aaron。美国人的观点彼此之间也很类似，何伟对中国政治社会的见解往往也和我的外国朋友差不多。大一大二大三参加哲学俱乐部，读书俱乐部等等，这些“非官方活动”重新塑造了我，给我新的启蒙。怀念那些在85度c闲聊的夏夜，希望有机会能跟他们重逢。
