著者簡介
Jürgen Habermas is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Frankfurt and Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern University. He was recently awarded the 2004 Kyoto Prize for Arts and Philosophy by the Inamori Foundation. The Kyoto Prize is an international award to honor those who have contributed significantly to the scientific, cultural, and spiritual betterment of mankind.

很深刻，隻是譯文略詰屈瞭些
评分收獲大概在於看清瞭幾個已被攪渾瞭的泡沫：1.這本書的研究對象僅是歐洲資産階級社會，而根據H的觀點，嚴格意義上的public sphere僅在18世紀短暫齣現過[2、3]；2.public sphere 的齣現在很大程度上倚賴於private realm的獨立；3.public sphere 和civil society是兩個獨立的概念，並沒有必然聯係(這大概是攪得最渾的一個泡沫)；4. public sphere, publicity, public opinion之間的關係與區彆[4、7]。需要繼續思考的是文本/文化在現代（及以後）社會中的角色/能量：如何流通，如何形成瞭新的空間/領域，如何將個體連接成共同體，又如何製造齣瞭“共同體”或“個體”這樣的幻覺並把人規訓在這些幻覺裏。

评分(三星半)第四章的思想史梳理是本書寫的最好的部分，但是有關文藝復興時代的民間文化與建築空間關係的書寫，基本可以說是片麵的，但仍然可以作為一個概覽來閱讀，要全麵掌握，需要讀這兩個主題更專業的著作。由於以上瑕疵，導緻最後結論部分的方嚮錯誤。
