I brought this book back from Paris and left it dusted on the shelve. It took me a while to understand that the clash of civilization can be another form of motives for the sake of society development, only in a painful way.

E.M. Forster 英美文学史上不输于海明威，毛姆，也是一样畅销作家。 他的《印度之行》也被拍成了电影，场面恢弘，角度精妙，是展现印度风情的绝好窗口，个人感觉和《甘地传》同看， 可以对英国统治时期的印度风貌了解较深了。 而这本书至今也还是印度大学里面文学课程的重要篇...
