不知道为什么张纯如写书总是不能抓住要点，像个话痨一样喋喋不休。比如说到水门事件（跟这本书内容的关系微乎其微），居然还要把整个事件概述一遍。这是一本了解华裔移民史不错的书，但是如果要把张纯如称为”学者“的话，就言过其实了。
