写作无非就讲求三点：词汇、语法和行文风格。该书举出可以概括写作的二十个句式，体大思精。二十个句式又可以不断组合变易，生生不息。依我看，作者的所谓句式，大部分是利用标点符号的变化来生成，如冒号、分号、破折号的使用，在英文写作都有极重要的意义。第一章讲句子成分分析；第二章介绍二十个句式；第三章讲二十个句式的组合；第四章讲一些基本的修辞手法；第五章利用一些经典文本让读者体会分析。附录详细介绍各种标点符号的使用要求等等。刘勰曾说：“八体虽殊，会通合散，得其环中，则辐辏相成。故宜摹体以定习，因性以练才。文之司南，用此道也。”总而言之，EXCITED!
