Viviane Sassen 在這本影集裏呈現齣一個凝固的非洲，街道，荒地，穿西裝的黑人......一切看上去百無聊賴又帶有點超現實，仿佛在遊覽一個美國西部小鎮。然而在一片平和中，幾張墳墓的照片平添瞭些許不安感，隱隱提醒沉醉在黑色人體之間的觀者非洲的現實。在內容之外，整本書的設計也彆齣心裁。封麵上半浮於渾濁水麵的黑色人體仿佛將觀者帶入一個迷離的非洲夢，呼應瞭parasomnia 的標題。內頁中大量的圖片被切割置於不同的頁麵，營造一種圖片在書本中遊移的感覺。
