著者简介
唐娜•塔特（Donna Tartt）
美国当代著名女作家，1963年出生，在密西西比州格林纳达长大，五岁时写了人生第一首诗，十三岁时发表了第一首十四行诗。1981年就读密西西比大学，后转学至贝林顿学院。大一时就因写作才能受到注意，被著名作家巴里•汉纳招入其短篇小说课程研究生班。汉纳称其为“难得一见的天才，文学之星”。
唐娜•塔特平均每十多年才完成一部作品，迄今只出版了三部长篇小说：《校园秘史》《小友》和《金翅雀》。这三部作品均颇受好评，畅销且长销，版权售出三十余国家和地区，奠定了她在文学界的地位。2014年，塔特入选《时代》杂志“年度最具影响力的一百位人物”。
塔特认为，雕琢句子——正确的词，适当的比喻——是写作带给人的最深层次的满足。写作是一种“沉浸式的体验”，写一本让自己沉迷的书，可以进入一个迥异的世界。
